Grace Pritchard Burson

Grace has always been fascinated by birth and babies, especially since her youngest sister was born when she was 13.  Her own son was born at home in February 2008, and six years later she began the process of training to be a birth doula.

In November 2017, she achieved certification as a birth doula through DONA International, the oldest and well-respected certifying organization.

In 2016, Grace also connected with Mindfulness Based Childbirth and Parenting, an outgrowth of the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction method originated by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts.  MBCP, pioneered by midwife Nancy Bardacke, helps parents to approach birth with peace and confidence through mindfulness techniques and practice. Grace participated in online training as an MBCP teacher in 2017 and now offers childbirth education classes and birth support on the West Island of Montreal.
